My First Convention

Something a little different from me today. I'm going to tell a little about my other major hobby.

Well, almost two years ago now, I joined a Chorus called A Cappella West. My friend Andrea introduced me to the Group. It's a group of 90 odd women who sing 4 part harmony together. The 4 parts are tenor, lead, baritone and bass. I am a bass, which is the low part.

Here is a little video of my group performing. See if you can spot me.

We are coming up to national competition time. On the 17th of May we will be performing in Sweet Adelines Australia national convention in Hobart.  Things are getting very exciting. Last night we had a dress rehearsal. This Sunday we are singing in a concert for family and friends to have a full run through. Then next week we will be singing at the men's western regional competition. The video above was us singing at this event last year.

Unstampabelles April challenge - Oh! Baby

Happy Easter to you all. I'm on the Design Team for Unstampabelles, a challenge blog.

Challenge #46
This month our theme is

You can create a baby project of some kind or use the phrase to suit!
Easter babies, animal babies, human babies........

The TWIST is to make your project fairly non-traditional for babies...

The Prize - new/unused
Not the Tombow glue - that is to give an idea of size

Don't forget - don't use stamps.

Here is my little project that I made for it. It's a little vintage baby shoe.

It's good to use a double sided paper for this project as you can see the inside.
This could be used for display or as a gift with goodies inside.

Exploding Box

Today I have made an exploding box for my son's 15th birthday. I've used the colours pink, orange and green to go with ch#2 of Scrapbook Divas birthday challenge. I've used a tutorial done by Steph over at Papercrafter' s Corner.  I always thought these boxes were a bit tricky and too much trouble but her tutorial was really easy to follow and it was a lot of fun to make.

I hope my son likes it.

Double layout for Scrapbook Divas 10th Birthday ch#1

Scrapbook Divas has turned 10. Michelle is having a 10 day challenge to celebrate. The first challenge is a double layout. I do like doing doubles so I've given it a go. I've used some misting on a white background. Then I've added some swirls on paper and two colours of sequins to move your eye across the pages and emulate the jellyfish tentacles.  A fun challenge.

Birthday card for ARTastic challenge

I've made a card for April 2015's challenge at Artistry. You needed to use the picture below as inspiration and add swirls. I used a stencil and some green pen to create swirls on my white cardstock. I then added some yellow and black flowers. Lastly I added some Bella! bling black rhinestone swirls to finish it off.
