Warm Wishes card

Here is a card I have made today for Week 167 at Papercrafters Corner. Here is the magazine cover we have to take inspiration from. I picked out the red and the fish. I have also used Japanese Yuzen paper and done some paper folding, which is distinctly Japanese.  A very cute cover. The sentiment on my card reads "Warm Wishes" and has two flowers, all in gold. They're rub ons.

Thank you card

Hello and Happy New Year to my readers.
I've been feeling crafty lately.
Did a bit of tidying in my craft space today and I've made a card.
The colour scheme is taken from the picture below, which is the inspiration for this month's Archiscraps challenge. Grey, yellow, cream and white. The criteria is to add lace.
I had a new roll of lace ribbon I wanted to use. I have made a tag and a little paper flower for this card.

Thanks for looking.

A Candle for Christmas

Unstampabelles always has unusual challenges.  This month is no exception.  Our goal is to have Flickering Lights with the TWIST  to have a candle in the item made.

I took myself off to the charity store and bought myself a small glass container that would fit a white candle I already owned.  I had great success on my first visit. The container cost me 50c.

Next I chose an almost sheer white ribbon and a pretty dark red ribbon. I glued these together and then glued them to the glass container.

A few years ago I made a whole batch of small Christmas banners. I attached this around the red ribbon.

Last of all I glued on some Christmas decorative nature items.

In went my candle and voila, it was finished.

What do you think?  Would you like to try it?

Now, just for fun, here is a pic of my 3 year old cat Georgia on top of the Christmas wrapping paper box.

Christmas card set

I made these lovely Christmas cards using a Stamp It Up set, a wooden Santa stamp and an acrylic Kaisercraft stamp, plus some green ribbon.

I've entered them at Soul Scrappers.

Two cards using a resist technique

UNSTAMPABELLES' November challenge

Resistance TWIST use  resistance technique and explain it in your blog

I have chosen to use a white wax crayon and a chipboard heart for my technique.  I simply cut two white pieces of paper and placed the heart randomly over each piece and traced around the heart with the white crayon.

Then I took some simply watercolour paints and using two colours on each paper, I painted over the entire area of each white papers.

The result is simple but effective.

I chose co-ordinating cardstock for my base cards. I have used washi tape and ribbon/fibre to embellish, plus the original heart chipboard piece has been used on my purple card. The sentiments are a rub-on. Not a huge fan of rub-ons. When I went to apply the Happy Anniversary, happy would not come off in one piece. Oh well, never mind.

Hope you join in. The challenge went up today. There are two other DT projects to look at and more inspiration each week until month end.

Here is what you could win.

Die-cut background layout

Hi everyone.

Life is getting pretty exciting. It's my birthday this week. I'm getting taken out to high tea by some girlfriends.  I love high tea. How about you?

I have created a layout for my DT position over at Unstampabelles.

The challenge is:

#63 Outside Your Comfort Zone Twist: a different edge

I have used Kaisercraft's Lace patterned die-cut paper from their Needle & Thread Collection. It has been in my stash for simply ages. Don't you love using a nice paper you've been keeping.

I do enjoy making girly pages once in a while. Makes a nice change. As I don't do them very often I do find them a challenge, hence they are outside my comfort zone.

You may notice that I have used the paper flower that I created for last month's Unstampabelles' challenge.  If you did, good spotting.

Here is what  you could win if you enter.
